Still in plain sight

I thought it might do me some good to blog about my exploits as a fat bloke and life in general.
I have been a fat bloke for donkeys years, generally try some diet and exercise regime and eventually come off it for some reason or another - boredom mainly I suppose.
I don't enjoy being fat but at the same time it doesn't really bother me, I've been single for probably 5 years now and to be honest I have quite enjoyed it. I do miss snuggles etc but to be honest I have absolutely loads of girl mates so get lots of hugs/kisses etc and I have lived with a girl for a few years now and we have been romantic but in a non sexual fashion if that makes sense. My dad calls her my 'wife' :) much to our amusement.
we have lived together,done everything a couple would do including hols,shops,cinema,nights out etc - just without the sex part.
It was sort of weird at first but we have grown used to it and to be honest its been a proper blast with no hang ups over ripping each others clothes off on a friday night.
She has just found herself a proper boyfriend so I am no doubt going to be losing my 'wife' soon, I'll miss her and the lifestyle a bit but I have plenty to do to keep me busy anyway, plus the free time I gain from 'the wife' being occupied with the boyfriend means I can get out a bit extra with my friends doing stupid stuff as usual.
or.. even get a go on Skyrim for a change :P
I think wifey is getting a bit guilty at leaving me behind and is encouraging me to diet,exercise and find a replacement wife lol :) - to be honest the wife part Im not to bothered about as being single is very stress free, but weight wise etc she has a very good point - ive wasted most of my 20's and early 30's being fat and it would be wise now I am approaching my later thirties to get something sorted before I hit 40+ and it gets too hard to sort myself out.
I have been dieting now for a couple of weeks and being pretty good - I am hoping that writing about it and of course life in general may help me keep on track - perhaps meet new people in similar situations or anyone really as I generally get on with anyone. My friends range from totally straight laced Uni/business boys/girls, to totally crazy stoners who love nothing better than to review legal highs on youtube and work in a garage at night lol.
